Czech composer Josef Mysliveček is considered by American musicologist Daniel E. Freeman (2009) to be “…one of the most talented composers active in the autumn years of the eighteenth century in Europe, …brilliant, successful and inventive.”
His works include 28 operas, 8 oratorios, a number of cantatas, more than 50 symphonies, 29 overtures, 16 concerti and 134 chamber (instrumental) works.
