Jan Rösner studied classical singing at the Pilsen Conservatory and in 2013–2015 he studied composition there as well.
He was awarded a honourable mention at the international competition for composers Generation 2014 and the major prize in the international Verdehr Trio Composition Competition that was announced by the American International Clarinet Association. In 2014–2015 he was awarded a scholarship of Czech Music Fund Foundation. He also took part in the finals of the International Antonín Dvořák Composition Competition.
In 2016 he was awarded the award of OSA copyright association for the most successful young composer of classical music. At present he studies composition at the Academy of performing arts in Prague. For String Quartet No. 1 he was awarded the first prize in the competition for composers announced in 2015 by West Bohemian Music Centre.
