Invitation to the Euroradio Jazz Season Concert - Nusle Art Orchestra
A festive concert of the band called NUO, or Nuselský umělecký orchestr - Nusle Art Orchestra will take place in the Czech Radio's Studio A in Prague - Karlín (Hybešova Street 10, Prague 8) on Thurday, 18th June at 7:30 p.m. The final concert of this year's Euroradio Jazz Season will be broadcasted on Friday, 26th June, by Czech Radio 3 - Vltava, in the Czech Republic, and also by many other European countries united under the European Broadcasting Union.
NUO - Nusle Art Orchestra belongs among the top Czech bands of the middle generation. This band, which is unique in its line-up, instruments and style, was formed in 2002 by the keyboard player and composer Jakub Zitko.
Jakub Zitko has always inclined towards playing his own music. He has been attracted to untraditional music forms and unconventional possibilities of sound. From the piano he gradually moved to the Hammond organ and the Fender piano. He has explored the possibilities of using a sampler and has tried various combinations of instruments and sound effects.
During the concert, you will hear solely the original work of different styles by the individual members of the Nusle Art Orchestra: Roman Vícha (drums), Aleš Slavík (electric bass), Jiří Šimek (guitar), Marcel Bárta (soprano and alto saxophones, bass clarinet), Pavel Hrubý (tenor saxophone), Oskar Török (trumpet), Jan Jirucha (trombone), and Ivan Acher (phonovox).
The leader of the band, Jakub Zitko, will be hosting the show; the presenter of the program will be the jazz editor Jiří Starý.
