Top Representatives of the Visegrad Media Group in the Heart of Prix Bohemia Radio
The Prix Bohemia Radio Festival welcomed a number of top representatives of public service media from Visegrad Countries. The media representatives as well as representatives of the International Visegrad Fund had arrived upon the invitation of Czech Radio Director General René Zavoral. Mr. Zavoral also chaired the meeting.
The biannual meeting presents an opportunity to discuss current event in the representative´s home countries, tend to the problems and opportunities they face and share areas of possible cooperation.
Among others the city of Olomouc welcomed the Director General of the Hungarian public service media group MTVA Miklós Vaszily, programme Programme Director of Czech Television Milan Fridrich, Board Advisor and head of the V4TV project Marcin Stefaniak, Head of International Relations of Polish Radio Adam Burakowski or Head of International Relations of Radio and Television Slovakia Slavomíra Kubičková. The International Visegrad Fund was represented by deputy executive director Marek Pavlík.
The agenda included upcoming events and festivals, innovations in programming, both possible and existing cooperation, and offered a welcomed space for the sharing of best practice.
The meeting took place during the international festival of radio production Prix Bohemia Radio. The 33rd annual edition of the festival features the drama, documentary and report categories.
Considering the fact that the International Visegrad Fund allocated a total of 25 thousand Euro to the Prix Bohemia Radio Festival, the visit to Olomouc became an opportunity to acquaint its representatives with the format of the festival in its setting. They appreciated not only the level of interconnection between the festival, the city of Olomouc and the community of university students, but also the programme selection and the emphasis placed on the production from Visegrad countries.
The venue for the high level meeting of the Visegrad media groups was kindly provided by the statutory city of Olomouc, who´s town hall played host to the session. The delegates had the opportunity to take a tour of the building as well as to ascend it´s tower and take in the view. They also attended the opening ceremony of the Prix Bohemia Radio festival held at the Reduta hall.
